SunState is powered by Academy of Aviation, one of only four Delta Propel affiliate flight schools in the United States, named directly on Delta's official Propel program page.
Your training begins in one of our Career Pilot Programs, where you earn your FAA commercial multi-engine certificate and instrument rating. You then build experience as a SunState flight instructor. Once you are actively instructing as a certified flight instructor and within 12 months of meeting R-ATP or ATP requirements, you can apply to Delta Propel and meet its selection criteria.
Selection into Propel is competitive and determined by Delta. Once you are accepted, the path is defined and guaranteed: a single Propel interview is the only interview required, and selected applicants receive a Qualified Job Offer from Delta. Propel removes the uncertainty of getting hired at a regional carrier by streamlining every Propel pilot through Endeavor Air, Delta's wholly owned regional subsidiary.
After you reach ATP minimums, you onboard at Endeavor Air and progress through its Career Advancement Program (CAP), which includes a minimum of 24 months of active service as a captain. From there you transition to Delta Air Lines as a first officer, with no further interviews along the way.
Academy of Aviation provides the FAA Part 141 training, the flight instructor experience, and the affiliate status that make you eligible to apply.
